Who can use Corbis Images:
Only the following persons may use Corbis Images:
Student: a person that is admitted and enrolled in a class pursuant to an Art-Related Academic Course of Study (defined below).
Faculty: a person that teaches or facilitates teaching of a Class.
Staff: all employees in the particular department of the school in which a specific subject area is taught, researched, and studied.

How Corbis Images may be used:
Students, Faculty, and Staff may use Corbis images only for Non-Commercial, Educational Purposes, which means the use of a Corbis Image as part of any Academic Course of Study; Course Work; in Classroom Materials; or in an Educational Laboratory Setting, as those terms are defined below.
Art-Related Academic Course of Study means any official class offered by the school and completed by a student in pursuit of an educational degree or certificate or diploma that is recognized by an appropriate accrediting body, and which focuses on the arts, advertising, marketing, graphic design, media and/or visual communications.
Course Work means non-commercial, educational work required as part of an Art-Related Academic Course of Study.
Educational Laboratory Setting means non-commercial, educational work completed during an Art-Related Academic Course of Study that allows a student to gain practical experience or to apply what he/she has learned to hypothetical non-commercial projects.
Classroom Materials means in-class handouts related to Course Work (provided without charge and limited in the number of copies), in-class displays (e.g., via projector, computer monitor, television screen, online classrooms), class outlines or lessons, and non-fee based exams.
Non-Commercial means the work must be for educational use, and not on behalf of an actual client. Authorized users may create works that advertise or promote a fictional product or service, or when used in a student Portfolio or other “mock project”, to advertise a product or service for the sole purpose of demonstrating the skills and talent of the end user, but not otherwise used to advertise the product or service of any person or entity.
Portfolio means the examples of your works prepared during an Art-Related Academic Course of Study, and saved to demonstrate the skills and talents you have acquired. Portfolios may be shown to potential employers as an example of your skills, but not otherwise used by you or an employer. Such portfolios may not be posted online.

Length of Use
Corbis Images may be used only for so long as required by your Art-Related Academic Course of Study, and when finished, you shall stop using the Corbis Image except as may be included in your Portfolio. Your rights to use any Corbis Image shall terminate immediately if you: (1) fail to comply with any of these terms and conditions or (2) except for Portfolio use, cease to be a Student, Faculty, or Staff as defined above.

Term and Termination You acknowledge that Corbis may terminate your right to access and use the Corbis Images at any time.

Restrictions on the Use of Corbis Images
You may not use any Corbis Image for any purpose other than an Educational Purpose as defined above. The rights granted in this license apply only to Corbis Images that are provided by the Corbis education website located at education.corbis.com, and Corbis reserves all rights not specifically granted. If you are unsure whether your use is prohibited, you must consult with your school prior to using the Corbis Image.
You shall not use any Corbis Image(s) for any commercial purposes whatsoever, which include without limitation: advertising marketing and promotional materials/services on behalf of an actual client or for your own benefit, any products that you distribute, whether or not for a fee (including any t-shirts, posters, templates, flyers, brochures, calendars, screensavers, “photo mugs”, mailings in hard copy or electronic format), any materials or services for sale or for which fees or charges are paid or received (e.g., textbook supplemental materials, books, syllabi, course packs), use in any books, news publication or journal, and uses without an Educational Purpose. Use in any advertising or publishing for the school is specifically prohibited and requires a separate license and fee.
In addition, You shall not use any Corbis Images on any peer-to-peer file sharing networks or websites (including Facebook, Flickr, photobucket, blogs social networking sites). Any use of Corbis Images on submissions for contests, awards, sponsorships or for posting online is prohibited without prior approval from Corbis.
You are solely responsible for the use of any Corbis Image in combination with any other material. Corbis Images may not be utilized as a trademark or service mark, for any pornographic, unlawful purpose or use, to defame any person, to violate any person's right of privacy or publicity, to infringe upon any copyright, trade name, trademark, or service mark of any person/entity, or for uses covering sensitive subjects including, without limitation, topics that may depict the subject matter of a Corbis Image in a negative or unfavorable light or subject persons to ridicule, and topics regarding all sexual issues, substance abuse, physical or mental abuse, drugs, AIDS, cancer, or serious physical or mental ailments, or the disparagement of a person or product.
If you wish to make use of a Corbis Image in a manner not permitted by this license, please contact Corbis to obtain a separate license and pay the applicable license fee.

Usage Guidelines
The rights granted to you herein are conditioned upon your understanding and abiding by appropriate guidelines regarding lawful and unlawful uses of copyrights, trademarks, rights of publicity and moral rights (“Usage Guidelines”), which you should have received with this End-User License Agreement. If you did not receive a copy of such Usage Guidelines along with this End-User License Agreement, please immediately contact your school to obtain such Usage Guidelines.

Ownership and Intellectual Property
Corbis and its image sources retain all right, title, and interest in and to all of the copyrights, patent rights, trademarks, trade secrets, and all other proprietary rights in the Corbis Images. You will not remove any copyright or other proprietary rights notices contained in the Corbis Images or any related materials provided to you. No rights in the Corbis Images are granted except the limited license contained in this End-User License Agreement. Any right, title or interest arising in any compilation or derivative work created using a Corbis Image shall not entitle you to use any Corbis Image except as permitted hereunder.

You shall indemnify and defend Corbis and its image providers against all claims, liability, damages, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees and expenses, arising out of or related to (i) a breach of this Agreement, (ii) the use or modification of any Corbis Image or combination of any Image with any other material, (iii) your failure to abide by any restriction regarding the use of a Corbis Image, or (iv) any claim by a third party related to the use of a Corbis Image, alone or in combination with any other material.

Corbis makes no warranties nor shall Corbis be liable for any Image which: (a) has been modified by you (b) has been combined by you with other images, products, content or materials, or (c) Corbis has previously notified you not to license or otherwise use.

Neither Corbis nor any of its directors, officers, employees, partners, licensors, or agents shall be liable for any indirect, consequential punitive, or incidental damages arising out of the use of, or the inability to use a Corbis Image, even if Corbis has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event shall Corbis’ liability (whether in tort, contract, or otherwise) arising out of or relating to your use of a Corbis Image exceed U.S.$100.00, regardless of the number of claims or Corbis Images used.

EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION, CORBIS MAKES NO WARRANTIES (EXPRESS OR IMPLIED) WITH RESPECT TO CORBIS IMAGES OR TO CORBIS’ PERFORMANCE OF ITS OBLIGATIONS. CORBIS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT CAPTION INFORMATION IS ACCURATE. CORBIS MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED REGARDING ANY CORBIS IMAGES, OR ANY RIGHTS OR LICENSES UNDER THIS AGREEMENT INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THAT THE CORBIS IMAGES ARE ERROR FREE, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, TITLE AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NONINFRINGEMENT.

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York, except its conflict of laws rules. You hereby agree that venue for any action arising out of the use of a Corbis Image shall be in the state and federal courts located in the Borough of Manhattan, New York, WA. This Agreement may not be assigned, nor modified without Corbis’ written consent.
